Check a broker’s licence for your country
The licence that protects you is the one held by the company that opens your account, and that depends on where you live. Pick a broker and your country to see which company it is, who regulates it, and where to check it yourself.

Questions
How do I check if a forex broker is regulated?
Find the company name in your account agreement (not the brand), then search that exact name on the regulator’s own register. Make sure the licence number and the website on the register match the one you are using.
Why does the licence depend on my country?
Most groups own several companies. The company that opens your account depends on where you live, and only that company’s regulator protects you. A UK licence does not protect a client onboarded in Seychelles.
What if the broker is not on any register?
Treat it as unlicensed. Search the IOSCO investor alerts portal for warnings, and do not deposit.
