美国9月成屋销售年化399万套,高于预期的395万套
US existing home sales for September 3.99 million versus 3.95 million estimate
Annualized sales of existing homes in the United States in September were 3.99 million units, higher than the expected 3.95 million units and a month-on-month increase of 1.5%. Sales fell year-over-year in all four regions; NAR chief economist said the recent rise in mortgage rates has made it harder for buyers to get loans, and higher inventory and longer sales times give buyers more bargaining power.
U.S. existing home sales in September rebounded from the previous month and were better than expected, but still fell overall year-on-year. The NAR's warning that mortgage interest rates suppress the ability to purchase homes shows that housing demand is highly sensitive to the interest rate environment. The data provides structural clues for observing the lagging effects of the Fed's tightening, and traders can pay attention to its indirect impact on the relative strength of the U.S. dollar and gold's safe-haven pricing.
